Career Firefighter

Missoula Rural Fire District is establishing an eligibility list for Entry-level firefighters. The current base salary for Probationary Firefighter I is $64,227, and Probationary Firefighter I/Paramedic is $69,027 (additional salary depending on qualifications).

Candidates must successfully complete the Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) before submitting an application. For information on the Montana CPAT, visit the Montana Firefighter Testing Consortium website HERE.

The application period for 2025 is now open. Applications must be received by 12PM MDT on March 3, 2025.
